What is gold vermeil and how does it differ from gold plated?

The primary difference lies in the materials used and the thickness of the gold layer.
Gold vermeil always uses Sterling Silver as base material. The gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick which makes it more durable and resistant to tarnish compared to regular gold plated jewelry. It offers the look and feel of real gold to s more affordable price.
The base material of Gold plated jewelry is a lower-cost material such as brass, copper or stainless steel. The thickness of the gold layer is usually less than 0.5 microns making it susceptible to wear and tarnish over time.
At ( insert logo) we only use the higher quality Gold vermeil as base material in our jewelry.
